Industry titan, Colin Smith CBE, joins Greenjets advisory board to help shape product strategy

Bedfordshire, UK. 22nd June 2023

Colin P. Smith, CBE FRS FREng FRAeS FIMechE, has joined Greenjets’ advisory board. He is an accomplished aerospace engineer with a career spanning over four decades at Rolls-Royce, where he held various pivotal engineering positions within the company. He served as the Chief Design Engineer for the Rolls-Royce Trent 500, which powers the Airbus A340, and as the Chief Engineer for the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engine used on the Airbus A330. He was also the Chief Engineer for the Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322 helicopter engine. His final role at the company was on the Main Board of Rolls-Royce as the Director of Engineering and Technology, overseeing all engineering activities across Aviation, Energy, Marine and Nuclear.  

In 2012, Smith received the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Birthday Honours for his outstanding achievements. In 2014, Smith was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS), recognizing his exceptional skills as an engineer and leader. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (HonFRAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE). Furthermore, he is a member of the Council for Science and Technology.

As part of the advisory board, Colin will directly support Greenjets’ product and R&D roadmap. His experience and network in the industry will help Greenjets reach new customers and new markets with new product offerings.
